The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was founded in 1966 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in New York City. In Italy, it is known as Congregazione Italiana per la Coscienza di Krishna and belongs to the Vaishnava tradition. Based on the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, ISKCON promotes bhakti yoga (devotional service) through chanting the Hare Krishna mantra, selfless service, and spiritual education. With a strong emphasis on compassion, meditation, and moral living, ISKCON has a growing presence in Italy, with several temples and centres across the country. Parabhakti Dasa joined the Hare Krishna movement in Italy in 1978 and has since dedicated his life to spiritual practice, leadership, education, and interfaith dialogue.
